FUNDRAISING

Our Money in Action...

Each fall, our PTSO does a big fundraiser.  So far, in the fall of 2023, we have already raised over $20,000.  We will allocate some of this money directly, but our goal is to distribute most of it via grants.  These grants are reviewed and allotted by a committee of students, teachers, and administrators.

Where does the money go?

Here are some testimonials...

Books for Our Kids!

"Today we took a trip to Possible Futures, a local community bookstore.   The owner, Lauren, a literacy specialist, and former teacher, hosted us.  She provided breakfast and showed us what the bookstore offers.  The goal of this field trip was to inspire and foster students to read and explore what their community has to offer.  With the funds that were granted, students also purchased a book of their choice.  This was an amazing opportunity!"  - Ms. Agosto (December 2023)

The Musical: "Charlie Brown"

“Thank you again for the generous gift to our theater program at Wilbur Cross.  The money was used to purchase costumes and props for our production of 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown.' The concept was to put a modern spin on the classic look by using colors and patterns that hinted at the original designs.  Our ensemble chose characters, and several came up with their own designs. ...The design was simple, yet effective and not 'cartoony,' which is exactly what we were going for!”  – Heather A. Bazinet, NHPS Speech Language Pathologist

School Percussion Band

“Thank you for awarding the band this grant! We are thrilled to receive the equipment!” - Eric Teichman, Band Teacher

"Having the large cowbell to use when playing the timbales has made me so happy. This will help me be able to have more space for creativity in my playing and open the options for more songs that we can play in the band." -Manny

"Having flip folders for our marching band is absolutely a great resource! With our flip folders, we are able to march in parades and perform in field shows with ease." -Young In

Red Carpet for

Academic Achievement

"How does it feel on the red carpet?" we asked.

Super amazing!” said one student.

I feel so special!” said another.

I’m going to keep working hard!” said a third.

Student Council Tailgate

“Our goal was to have tailgates to bring more school spirit. Many students have asked for bigger activities, which is where we got the idea to have an inflatable obstacle course.  This is what we used the money for.  Thank you!”  – Wilbur Cross Student Council
